How it works

  1. 01

    Describe the video

The angle matters more than the topic. "Why X fails" produces a better script than "about X".

  2. 02

    Pick a length

Three to five minutes, eight to ten, or fifteen to twenty. The structure changes, not just the word count.

  3. 03

    Rewrite it in your voice

Use it as a structure to speak from. A script read verbatim always sounds read.

What people use it for

Beating the blank page

Editing a structure that exists is a different task from inventing one, and a much faster one.

Keeping a video on track

A written structure is what stops a ten-minute video from becoming a rambling twenty.

Working in a second language

A first draft in a language you speak but do not write fluently saves considerable time.

Frequently asked questions

Will YouTube penalise an AI-written script?+

No. The policies concern the content you publish — originality, disclosure of synthetic media, reused content — not the tools used to draft it. What is penalised is mass-produced content with no added value, which is a description of how a tool is used, not of the tool.

Should I read the script word for word?+

No, and it is the most common mistake. A script read verbatim sounds read, and viewers hear it immediately. Use it as a structure with the key phrases written out, then speak the rest.

Why does it not include statistics?+

Because a language model invents plausible ones. A fabricated statistic in a video is a real credibility problem, so the script asks you to look one up instead of handing you a number you cannot source.

Why no B-roll or camera directions?+

They only make sense to whoever is filming, and generated ones are generic. The script covers what is said; what is shown is yours to decide.

How long should a YouTube script be?+

Roughly 130 to 150 spoken words per minute, so about 1,300 words for a ten-minute video. The lengths here are calibrated on that, but delivery pace varies a lot between creators.

Can I use this commercially?+

Yes, including on monetised videos. Just make it yours: a script published as generated is exactly the low-effort content the policies do target.
