Channel analysis
Analyse any channel, including ones you do not own
Subscriber count is the least useful number on a channel page. What matters is its median views, and which of its videos beat that median — that is what tells you the format is working.

What a channel page will not tell you
- Subscriber count is a lagging indicator. A channel can hold two million subscribers while its recent videos quietly decline.
- Total lifetime views are distorted by whatever went viral three years ago and says nothing about reach today.
- YouTube Studio holds the real analytics, but only for channels you own. There is no way around that — and no need for it, if you measure the right public numbers.

How a channel is analysed
We read its recent videos
Titles, view counts, publication dates and durations — everything a public channel exposes.
We compute its median
The middle value of its recent uploads. That is the channel’s real baseline, and the number every one of its videos is then compared against.
We flag what beats it
Videos scoring several times the median are the ones whose topic, angle or thumbnail worked — the ones worth studying.
What you get per channel
Median views
The baseline that actually reflects current reach, rather than a lifetime total.
Subscriber count
Kept for context and available as a filter, not treated as the headline number.
Its outlier videos
Which uploads beat the channel’s own baseline, and by how much.
Publication rhythm
How many videos have been collected and how recently, so cadence is visible.
Language and country
Every channel is tagged, which is what makes cross-market comparison possible.
Your own channel too
Point it at your channel and your videos are scored against your own median.

FAQ
Can I see another channel’s YouTube analytics?
Not the private ones. Watch time, retention, traffic sources and revenue live in YouTube Studio and are visible only to the channel owner. What is public — view counts, subscriber counts, publication dates, durations — is enough to compute a channel’s median and score its videos against it, which is what this tool does.
Which metrics actually matter when analysing a channel?
Median views of recent uploads first, because that is the real baseline of current reach. Then which videos beat that median and by how much, since those reveal the formats that worked. Subscriber count and lifetime views matter least — both lag behind what a channel is doing now.
Do I need permission from the channel owner?
No. Only public data is used, the same data any visitor sees on the channel page. No private analytics are accessed, and the owner is not notified.
How many videos does a channel need?
At least three recent videos, otherwise a median is meaningless and no score is shown. Most active channels clear that easily.
Can I analyse my own channel this way?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Seeing your own videos scored against your own median shows which of your formats genuinely overperformed rather than simply arriving in a good month.
